NYC Taxi Cab

Note: This vehicle is only available in NTSC Version of the game!

Firstly, A BIG THANKS TO SUBZERO! (Keep reading and you will out why).

Many cheat sites mention a yellow NYC (New York City) Taxi Cab that can be found in The Getaway Black Monday. I tried looking for it where it was supposed to be but could never find it. This is because it is only available in the NTSC (American) version of the game (I have the PAL version).

Strangely no pictures of it seem to exist on the internet. Thankfully a fellow Getaway fan recently discovered they had both versions of the game after finding an NTSC copy of the game in their storeroom.

So it is with thanks to subzero that you are able to see the pictures below, which were kindly sent to me to use on this site.

You can check out the other photos of this car which subzero has added to IGCD (Internet Games Car Database).

Also, he has uploaded video footage of the car on his youtube channel. Check it out!

A map showing the location of the NYC Taxi (thanks to subzero for this pic)

Here's the NYC Taxi, where it is found (thanks again to subzero for the pic)

Interestingly, the building it is parked in front of is the American Embassy in Grosvenor Square.

Car Dealerships

These pics were all taken in Black Monday, although some (possibly all) are in the original Getaway also.

Car Dealerships on Park Lane, Mayfair (near Hyde-Park)

Mercedes-Benz

Porsche & BMW (some of the cars look like BMWs but it only has signs for Porsche)

Stratstone Aston Martin & Jaguar

Car Dealerships on Berkeley Street, Mayfair

Unknown (possibly meant to be another Stratsone dealership as they are located in this street in real life, although there appears to be no visible signage)

Boxing Gym

The Shoreditch Boys Club is a new location in Black Monday. It was not featured in the original The Getaway game. In fact, the area it is located in was not even accessible in the first game. It is located in a new added on area in Shoreditch. It is interesting to know that it is based on a real life location, The All Stars Boxing Gym located at 576 Harrow Road, London. However, in the game, the name has been changed and it's location in Shoreditch is quite a distance from it's real world home.

It's interesting to note that just inside the front door there is a sign saying "WELCOME TO ALL-STARS BOXING YOUTH CLUB"

Left: The real life building "ALL STARS BOXING GYM & YOUTH CLUB"
Right: The game recreation "SHOREDITCH BOYS CLUB"

Black Monday Save Garages

One of the new inclusions in Black Monday was the addition of a save garage feature (similar to GTA), where you can save one car and one motorbike in each of the eight save garages.

This allows you to save cars from the missions and use them later on in free roam, or you can simply save your favourite cars to your garages so you can take them for a spin whenever you like.

For those that don't know where these garages are located, I have made a video as well as a map illustrating where abouts they are around London.

Note: Although I have listed character names next to the garages that are closest to their starting positions in free roam, any character can use any garage.

Black Monday Glitches

Conjoined cars-
This is a glitch where one car will intersect inside another car. The cars will become seperated when you move either car away from the other.
