Apparently there is an extra car in the NTSC and PAL Version 2 editions of the game. Unfortunately I have PAL Version 1 so I haven't seen it for myself.
It is said by many to be a Maserati Coupe. I found a picture someone had taken of this extra car in the game (see below) and then I googled some images to try and find a picture of a Maserati Coupe that looked similar (see below).

The front end of the car however looks nothing like the Maserati that is so reminiscent of the rear of the car. It looks more like an 'old school' muscle car from the front. Below are 2 cars which are possibly the inspiration for the front-end design of this car.

Although the pictures are taken at different angles, making comparison slightly difficult, I'm happy enough with the similarities to go with the others and say this extra car is a Maserati Coupe too. If you have one of the versions that has this extra car in it, I would love to see some more pics or video footage of it.
It is apparently located in the same underground carpark where the modified Peugeot 306 GTi 'Boy Racer' car is found.
